How do I collect words?

Start a session from Home to meet new words and revisit ones you’ve learned. Read a word’s meaning and examples, then practice recognizing it, recalling it, and using it in a sentence as your familiarity grows.

Your words appear in Your hoard. Search or sort your collection, open a word to revisit its meaning, or choose to polish it with more practice.

Can I use Verbrary offline?

The included words, collection, and core practice activities work offline. On-device sentence checking requires a supported device with Apple Intelligence available. Optional server checking and word-pack updates need an internet connection.

If a sentence cannot be checked, you can retry or continue without scoring that sentence. An unavailable check does not count as a wrong answer.

A sentence result looks wrong

AI can misread a sentence. Use the word in a clear, complete sentence and compare it with the meaning shown in the app. You can revise and try again.

To report a problem with a word or definition, tell us which word and what seems wrong. Please use a made-up example instead of sending personal information.

Where is server sentence checking?

It is off by default. Learners who indicate they are 13 or older can enable it in the You tab after reading the consent message. It can be turned off there at any time. This option is not offered to younger learners.

See our privacy policy for what is sent and how it is handled.

Where is my progress saved?

On your device. Verbrary does not have an account or sync progress between devices. Use Export progress in the You tab to keep a copy. Your system backup may also include app data.

If Verbrary cannot read a saved collection, it offers recovery options before replacing it. If a save fails, the app shows an error so you can retry or export your progress.
